Monoblock or Split Block Compressors from Knorr-Bremse, with or without through drive, are manufactured to state-of-the-art technology standards. Knorr-Bremse was also the first manufacturer to introduce Clutch Compressors to the European market in 2010, another technical innovation that helps commercial vehicles run efficiently and sustainably. They can be disengaged from the engine, meaning they do not always run at the same time. This saves energy and reduces wear.
Knorr-Bremse developed Screw Compressors for trucks and buses with alternative drive types. The advantage of Screw Compressors over conventional Piston Compressors is that they have significantly less oil transfer. This can save up to 1,700 liters of fuel per year, for a clean-running efficient engine.
