FAQ: Retrofit driver assistance systems & turning assistant

ProFleet Assist and ProFleet Assist⁺ are retrofit collision warning systems developed specifically for commercial vehicles.

The forward-facing ProFleet Assist camera system provides the driver with basic front assist functions. These are:

• Forward Collision Warning
• Pedestrian Collision Warning including bicycle detection
• Lane Departure Warning
• Traffic Sign Recognition
• Headway Monitoring and Warning

ProFleet Assist constantly monitors the traffic situation in front of the vehicle and warns the driver with acoustic and/or visual signals if it detects a potentially dangerous situation.

The camera-based system uses advanced AI-trained algorithms designed to classify detected objects in order to distinguish vulnerable road users such as pedestrians and cyclists, and - especially for the Turn Assist function - to ignore other road elements.

ProFleet Assist⁺'s additional function is the turning assistant with danger zone detection and collision warning. ProFleet Assist⁺ detects whether cyclists or pedestrians are in the danger zone when turning. In this case, the driver receives a visual warning and, in the event of an imminent collision an additional acoustic warning.

ProFleet Assist is suitable for all vehicles as it is a front assistance system.

ProFleet Assist⁺ is also suitable for a wide range of commercial vehicles, including buses, trucks with box bodies, delivery vehicles, specialised municipal vehicles, etc. Please contact us via our form to find out which vehicles in your fleet can be fitted with the system.

In Germany, ProFleet Assist⁺ Gen 2 is ABE compliant and therefore eligible for funding.

ProFleet Assist and ProFleet Assist⁺ are pure driver assistance and warning systems. This means that the cameras detect possible dangerous situations in their field of vision and warn the driver visually or additionally acoustically. There is no intervention in the operation of the vehicle.

The system cannot be switched off by the driver.

Yes, a corresponding error is shown in the EyeWatch display. A list of possible error messages can be found in the User Manual.

The system's increased light sensitivity ensures that vulnerable road users remain visible to the system even in low lighting conditions, such as lighting conditions provided by street lamps or vehicles.

Front-facing camera: vehicles, pedestrians, cyclists, scooter drivers.

Side camera: pedestrians and cyclists, scooter drivers.

Any properly trained workshop can install both systems. Required training includes the successful completion of an eLearning and additionally, in case of ProFleet Assist⁺, of a 1-day on-site installation training
