Knorr-Bremse’s Smart Label has been developed to enhance usability and protect our customers from counterfeit products. For this, the Smart Label has integrated a Global Trade Item Number (GTIN) that allows easier warehouse logistics. In addition, a QR Code grants access to information in our Customer Portal and allows to execute a product authenticity check.
QR Code
The QR code provides easy access to product related information, parts finder, installation guides, eLearnings, and quick way to contact Knorr-Bremse. In addition, a product authenticity check assures the usage of original Knorr-Bremse parts and prevents the use of fake products that are not secure. This service is available full-time, independent of time and place. To scan the QR Code, you only need your own smartphone and you get a direct feedback on the authenticity.
GTIN
Knorr-Bremse products now have a global identifier that supports warehouse logistics processes. The EAN barcode contains the GTIN, the global product identifier according to GS1 standards.

1. Scan the QR Code
- Smartphone Usage: Use your smartphone camera or any other QR code readable device to scan the QR code on the Smart Label.
- First Time Use: In case of first-time usage, please review Cookie & Data Protection information and GPS Data Sharing Permission
2. Verification Result:
- Green Confirmation: Indicates the QR code is genuine and used for an original Knorr-Bremse product.
- Red Warning: Indicates a potential authenticity issue. A link will be provided to contact the Knorr-Bremse technical hotline, which will select the correct country number for you to call.
3. Support:
- Hotline Contact: The Hotline staff will take your contact details and refer you our Experts for Authenticity check.
- Your direct response: You may also directly approach our Experts for Authenticity check under the mail address qrwarning.message@knorr-bremse.com . Your response should contain a clear picture of the QR Code which you have scanned and a clear picture of the product’s name plate for further assistance.
