Knorr-Bremse TruckServices at Automechanika

Our innovations will be presented to visitors in a total of four focus areas:

Service new products

The new pneumatic Synact^® disc brake will be one of the trade fair highlights. Compared with its predecessor, it has higher braking torque and lighter brake calipers. The weight of the brake plate has also been reduced, and the redesigned pads feature improved pad travel.

Along with Synact, we will also introduce the optional Active Caliper Release (ACR) system. ACR uses a spring-loaded system to disengage the pads from the brake disc and re-center the caliper. This shortens the time between actual braking and the moment at which the brake disc runs freely again. As a result, fuel consumption is reduced by up to one percent, as is wear on the brake pads. Knorr-Bremse is already considering a retrofit version for existing brake models, to be made available on the aftermarket in the near future.

At Automechanika we are also presenting a new variant of our clutch compressor in digital form. In 2010, Knorr-Bremse was the first manufacturer on the European market to introduce the clutch compressor and has since supplied it in series to many truck manufacturers. The advantage of clutch compressors is that they can be uncoupled from the driveline when compressed air is not required, and vice versa. This means that they do not run continuously, thus saving energy and reducing wear.

Another trade fair highlight is the EAC2 EPB, Knorr-Bremse's electronic air treatment system with integrated parking brake. The intelligent control and monitoring of brake and auxiliary circuits not only ensure greater safety and comfort, but the combination of EAC and a Knorr-Bremse clutch compressor also enables fuel savings of up to 1,250 litres per year.

In addition, we will be presenting our electronic parking brake module in Frankfurt am Main, which offers drivers greater safety, for example by automatically applying the parking brake when the vehicle is parked and automatically releasing the parking brake for easier hill starts.

At Automechanika we will also be presenting our latest version of the retrofit turning assistant "ProFleet Assist⁺ Gen 2" and announcing further additions to our portfolio.

EconX^® products

The EconX products from Knorr-Bremse TruckServices are the ideal solution for the repair of vehicles with a shortened remaining life in line with their current value. This is because with EconX the service life of the product is matched to the remaining life expectancy of the vehicle. It is shorter than for new service products because the main components come from products that have already been used. Therefore the manufacturing costs are also reduced, which optimises the costs for the overall operation of a vehicle. At Automechanika, we will be showcasing, among other things, our portfolio expansions in the areas of industrially reconditioned compressors and calipers.

Tools

With special and auxiliary tools from Knorr-Bremse TruckServices, repairs and maintenance can be carried out quickly and safely. These include tool kits for specific components and modules, release tools and brake disc measuring gauge and actuator maintenance gauge. At Automechanika we will be presenting our latest tool for checking the function of the pneumatic disc brake adjuster .

Service kits & wear parts

Knorr-Bremse TruckServices offers service kits and wear parts so that workshops can repair every commercial vehicle as quickly as possible. There is a suitable maintenance concept for every commercial vehicle, in which workshops can find everything they need for the most common service cases. At Automechanika we will be presenting in digital form our extended range of brake discs, brake pads, as well as air dryer cartridges that reliably dry the compressed air and thus protect the entire braking system from freezing, internal corrosion and reduced braking performance.
